  1. GoogleBooks search finds feb 03 1963 issue of the Billboard magazine, which lists Muchacha bonita rca victor mkl 1447 as Jiménez’s “most current” record. So the date must be no later than 1962.

  5. José Alfredo Jimenze was not so much a great singer, but IIRC the most prolific and productive author in Mexico aside from maybe Agustin Lara. His works are sung till today from many great singers – check out for example Lola Beltran.
