We had us a bunch of Tchico albums over the years. His sound changed quite a bit since he first appeared in 1969 with Orchestre Manta Lokoka. On this 1990 record we hear firm soukous, very danceable stuff. Tchico's 'Golden Voice' remained indestructible. Not only his voice was golden as shown on the front cover.[...]

For this sunday we've got another album with Theo Blaise Kounkou. It has no year of release, but I suspect it to be from the second half of the eighties. Once more Theo brought along Master Mwana Congo and to my pleasure Lokassa ya Mbongo and Dally Kimoko. Some keys are present, not too many[...]

Always a pleasure to listen to the legendary 'Les Bantous de la Capitale'. We find a number of great musicians on this album, Pamelo Mounk'a, Kosmos Moutouari, Nino Malapet, jean Serge Essous, Celestin N'Kouka, Samba Mascot & Passy Mermans among others. Emerged from Les Bantous de la Capitale, le Trio CePaKos ( Celio, Pamelo and Kosmos ) co-founded this Orchestra, 'Le Peuple', the people in 1973. Three vocalists who needed a new band while the band they left was in need of new singers and recruited Théo Blaise Kounkou, Pambou Tchico Tchicaya and Joseph 'José' Missamou.[...]
