We had some of their albums already but this one is quite different. The tracks are all melted together like we see on many lp's from Nigerian and Ghanaian bands. Their lp '10 Ans d'Animation' has the same kind of structure. I am not sure if the line-up on this lp includes the participation of[...]

We had several of their lp's before. Pierre Moutouari, and his brother Kosmos were part of this great band through the seventies. This is Orchestre Sinza, the mordant sound of their electric guitars is brought to expression in this wonderful frontcover image. See that vicious looking snake approaching the bass and suggesting a tension of[...]

Every song was written by another member of the group. Next to the brothers Pierre and Kosmos Moutouari, this band had some excelent writers. Fidèle Samba, Jean-Pierre Mapounga, Daniel Fouilou, Jaques Kimbembé, Alphonse Bahouka, Luc Kounkou, Anatole Bokasso, Gabriel Dianzolo and Hyacinte Malonga. Beautiful names, great music, listen. tracks; 1 Basi-bakeseny 2 Samba-mirita 3 Mamy-giro[...]

If I understood this right, this LP should be from 1972. The group started in 1964 and this release must be from after their 8th anniversary. It is truly wonderful and in good condition. Track 1,2 and 3 go together, track 4 and 5 aswell. Great album, great picture, all yours. tracks; 1 Mahoungo 2[...]

Today's album is a true jewel. Most LP's from Congo's 70's contain several songs per side, this one too but they're melted together like a big medley. A-side 10 tracks and B-side 11. I am specially fond of the rhythm work on this LP, absolutely smashing. My French is not so well, if yours is,[...]

In November 2011 we had volume 1, it came as Holiday in Afrika, but was the same album. Then, in January 2014 we had volume 3. Today we find vol. 4, volume 2 is not in my posession, but I did find it in my digital collection. There is something strange, this series of four[...]

One of the things I'm always struggling with is how to tell you about the quality of an album. We tend to use the same superlatives all the time, great, fine, swell, superb, awesome, words that loose their true meaning when used too much. Now I need to tell you how fantastic this lp really[...]

Hello Groovers around the Globe, at the 6th of May we celebrate our 5th anniversary already. Time sure flies. Unfortunately we are not yet in the opportunity to launch the new and independent GG, other work ( the one that keeps things running ) keeps coming in between. Ready or not, that can't spoil the[...]

An absolut magnificent find is this rare collector. It contains a fine example of a Pierre Moutouari song from the seventies. Track no.6 was from his hand. The album is filled with songs that make my heart beat faster, make up your own mind. It also appeared as Pathé Marconi / EMI 2 ( C054-15106[...]
