Last week one of our loyal visitors pointed me to see that Amazon is
making available loads of records taken from my beloved Global Groove.
Not only complete albums but also my Global Samplers as well as other
of my compilations. A firm called Kipepeo just downloads the files from
my website and sells them using the Amazon web shop. It is astonishing
to see how they even use my artwork without taking the trouble designing
something new. In some cases they also make new artwork for my compi-
lations and make new compilations with my rips. Also amazing to see,
albums with worn out and damaged covers are being sold without
repairing or searching for the sleeves online for example. It is a
shameles exercise all together. I am not sure if Amazon is aware
of this piracy. One way or the other, I am not going to make a big
fuzz about it. The rights of the music don’t lay with me so what
can I do about it. It is painful though, people pay their good money
for music I made available without charge. The whole idea behind
the Global Groove is sharing my collection with the world. I buy
the records, travell to find them and invest time and money,
it was meant to preserve almost lost and forgotten music.
Nothing else. I hope this message reaches many and
prevents people from spending money on stuff they
can just download for free ..

Vultures. I’ve seen it happen before. I believe it was on https://unclegil.blogspot.com. The blog probably stopped because of this practise, I do hope you will continue.
Maybe we can all post reviews on Amazon that say the same music if available on this site free of charge. I haven’t tried this myself so I don’t know if it’s possible if you haven’t actually purchased the damn thing.
I do however doubt that many people fall for this. A simple Google search should quickly point to this blog.
You have absolute right!!!
Thank you for free sharing…
shame on them ! thanks for your dedication
Moos, the evil manners you point are just a shame. Thank you again for all the work you do for free, that let us discover so many artists. I’ve been following your blog since the begining. Keep going on!
have been an avid reader and collector for many years
With an amazon account i have taken your cause and complained to amazon.com
Typical of amazon they have given me the royal runaround. I’m submitting written documents to them to stop the Thieves from profiting from your hard work. to make an impact all users should do likewise: complain to amazon.com call them @ (001) 888.280.4331
This blog is a gold mine for me. The music you provide on this blog has introduced me to music and artists I would never have found otherwise. Selling this music you have provided freely crosses the piracy line, and we all know that. I am extremely grateful your site, along with other sites have come along.
I am speaking with Amazon fraud right now. Will post my findings.
OK. Just spent an hour on the phone w/Amazon Cust. Svc, fraud, etc. They very much want to shut this situation down. Kipepeo Publishing is selling ‘cd’s’ that I know damn well are mp3’s from site all over the internet as some of them I have downloaded myself. There is paperwork to deal with, of course. I explained to them both the copyright issue &, more importantly, that they are receiving & selling fraudulant non-lossless cd (which is what they were primarily concerned with. I have two links: Oops, out of space I’ll continue on another…
Part II. First: Author Publisher & Vendor Guides: https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html/ref=hp_gt3_oths_pub?nodeId=201994780
Second, a link sent to me by Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html/ref=hp_gt3_oths_pub?nodeId=201994780.
Good luck Moos. Contact me if you need further info. Cheers!!
thank you for all your work Kris, I can’t claim copyright infringement though.
I do not own the copyrights of most of the albums we speak of. The compilations
are made by me but with music of others. I am insecure about taking legal action ..
I understand about the copyright issue. I just wanted to do whatever I could as GG has provided me w/so much great music over the years (as well as education) & I hate to see someone making a profit off your work. No worries & cheers for all you do. Now I am going to convert my downloads from yesterday!
Moos, you are the greatest (nut on the web!) and these others are simply low lifes! I really doubt they’re going to get very far with this nefarious scheme. You, on the other hand, have gone a long way with your generosity of spirit and dedication to keeping this wonderful musical culture alive and heard — and that is surely the point of music, to be heard and stay alive.
Thank you again for all you have done over the years. It’s not a contest, but you’re a winner.

Good visitors, thank you for your endless support !
I just ordered one of my own compilations with Amazon,
thought it would be fun to see how they made it and what
will be the information on the back of the CD. I’ll frame it
and hang it on the wall as a trophy .. haha .. such a crazy
world we live in, I’ll show it to you when it arrives ..
Well, it will be an mp3 & not lossless, that’s what ticks me off as there’s no mention of it. Amazon didn’t like it either.
Great Spirit Moos, great Person u are.
Very sad to hear about this, that some people are so caught up in the commercial that they miss many of the gifts life has to offer. Carry on, Moos, surrounded by friends who appreciate you & what you do.
You are truly right! love what you do. If you and others like you didn’t shared all this amazing forgotten music for free all the cultural music form all around the world would be lost forever. Keep up the good work!!
Thanks for sharing this wonderfull music from all over the world !!!U are the best music lover and blogger for me !!!
Very sorry to hear this. Keep doing what you do and leave people to their conscience. Keep sharing the music and we are always here to support you.
Such greed and deceit has its own reward Moos.

That sucks! Seems like there’s no end to the greed in this crazy world. In any case, many thanks for all you to keep this beautiful music alive, it’s very much appreciated.
I never took time to thank you for all your sharing. I discovered many and many beautiful music with your blog, and it’s really a pity that some shameless assholes make benefits with your work ! Thanks again for your generosity of spirit !
I have been a follower of you blog since the very early days. I thank you for all your work.
I am an attorney and I am currently in litigation against Amazon on the exact matter but concerning Amazon Fashion. Third Party Sellers infringing the rights of others. If you can reach out to me on firstname.lastname@example.org I can attempt to bring an end to this practice and have the Marketplace seller shutdown.
And Kipepeo continues its misdeeds … Moreover, they provocatively used your name (Global Grooves).
The crook’s name is Dirk Stursberg and he resides in Kenya.
I try to eliminate it …
